Cow Hollow Residence, San Francisco, CA, USA home designThe clients requested a crisp contemporary design for a residence with two bedrooms and a guest suite. For the children: a roof terrace for play, and for the owners: a meditation 4. The principles of feng shui were to be accommodated in the design.

San Francisco houses are generally built in rows with no side yard setbacks. The goal of providing a light and airy interior was accomplished through the use of two skylights located in the center of the house. Simplicity of materials and detailing was utilized to allow the interior spaces to flow easily together.

Materials: Painted white plaster exterior and gypsum board interiors; maple casework throughout; bamboo flooring; black slate terrace paving; and natural finish wood exterior windows and doors.
