Middelfart Savings Bank, Denmark by 3XN Architects sustainable design

Middlefart is a small Danish town on the island of Fyn. Middelfart Savings Bank had high ambitions for its recently inaugurated head office. The building needed to ensure a perfect environment for the employees, while positively stressing demands for high architectural design quality in the future development along the neighbouring harbour front. 3XN’s design is characterized by a large roof that covers all functions in the building. The roof is a large elegant wooden structure with 83 prism like skylights. Read more »

Located at the northwest corner of the park, The Ivy building is required to respond to the immediate context of the adjacent Sydney Street to the West, and both the parkland and associated single story, public library to the South. The architectural building project seeks to provide an exemplary signature architectural expression and character to provide a clear identity and location of the site. The Moses Mabhida Stadium is one of South Africa Stadiums that will be one of the host stadiums for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Moses Mabhida Stadium is located in KwaZulu Natal, beautiful City of Durban, South Africa, named after Moses Mabhida, a former General Secretary of the South African Communist Party. Located adjacent the ABSA Stadium in the Kings Park Sporting Precinct – a site located in Stamford Hill, The Durban Kwazulu Natal Moses Mabhida Stadium that includes an adjoining indoor arena, football museum, sports institute, and a transmodal transport station is intended to be a world-class multi-use stadium. The architects and designers on this project were Theunissen Jankowitz Durban, Ambro-Afrique Consultants, Osmond Lange Architects & Planners, NSM Designs and Mthulisi Msimang who together formed the Joint Venture Architectural Team called ‘Ibhola Lethu Consortium’. gmp International was involved in the competition and functional planning stages of the stadium. The Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld Plaza was designed by BBG-BBGM and Tandem Architects is located near the busy intersection of Rama I and Ratchadamri Road in Bangkok, Thailand. Integrated into a multipurpose podium, in addition to the hotel public floors, this large volume houses parking floors and extensive convention facilities. The luxury five-star, 505-key architectural hotel and convention center occupy the northwest quadrant of the fashionable CentralWorld Plaza complex. While circulation and programmatic links exist with the shopping and entertainment center, the hotel and convention centre are meant to retain their own identity. Read more »
