Bardessono was designed by firm WATG provided complete architectural design services with a 62-room boutique luxury inn and spa on a 4.9-acre site in Yountville, California (United States), in the heart of Napa Valley. Opening this week, the inn includes a spa with four treatment rooms, a 75-foot-long rooftop infinity pool, a fine-dining restaurant, and meeting space. The design reflects a blending of the Valley’s agrarian character, the high refinement associated with its wines, and the indoor/outdoor character of local living. Read more »

The Mornington Centre, located in the clients’ own community, in a Mornington residential street near the sea, Melbourne, Australia is architectural design that provides extended residential accommodation for older people who require specialist geriatric evaluation, management and rehabilitation. Built by Abigroup and designed by Melbourne architectural firm Lyons, the Mornington Centre has won the 2008 Horbury Hunt Award for outstanding brick craftsmanship and innovation in built commercial projects. The Horbury Hunt Awards recognise Australian commercial projects that use clay brick in an innovative and well designed way. Central Los Angeles Area High School #9 that is located in Los Angeles, United States (USA) was designed by Austrian architects Coop Himmelb(l)au for the visual and performing arts high school has completed and will open in September 2009 for the new term. High School #9, LAUSD’s new flagship high school project with emphasis in the Visual and Performing Arts, is in direct vicinity of the downtown Los Angeles cultural corridor with Disney Concert Hall, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The new architectural landmark for the capital and a national and international concert venue for Denmark, the Copenhagen Concert Hall or DR Concert Hall. The Copenhagen Concert Hall was designed by architect Atelier Jean Nouvel has the ugliest setting of the three. In a new residential and commercial district on the outskirts of the old inner city, it is flanked by boring glass residential and office blocks. Elevated train tracks running to the old city swing right by the building; swaths of undeveloped land with tufts of grass and mounds of dirt extend to the south. The building is swathed in a bright blue exterior made of translucent fabric. Read more »
