The MUMUTH, Graz Music Theatre by UNStudio in Austria architecture design

Designed by Ben van Berkel of the Dutch architecture firm UNStudio for the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG), the Haus für Musik und Musiktheater der Kunstuniversität Graz (MUMUTH) is a faculty building in Graz, Austria. The new Music Theatre, designed by UNStudio’s Ben van Berkel with Caroline Bos following an international competition with 212 entries, has already formed the Austrian contribution to the Venice Biennale of Architecture. The building is organised around a spiral element, which holds the central concrete staircase, but is also stretched and folded to form the interior spaces, welding together all three floors. The Norwegian super hospital, Akershus University Hospital has opened, after 9 years in the making. The architecture design that has a total area of 137,000 sq m and cost €1 billion to construct is located in near Oslo, Norway and was designed and constructed by C. F. Møller Architects. Technology and patient experience are key in €1billion design. During construction, from 1 March 2004, to 1 October 2008, some 1,400 people from 37 different nations contributed over 6.2 million man-hours erecting the new ‘super hospital’. The large-scale building will serve the 340,000 inhabitants from surrounding municipalities and boasts space for 50,000 in-patients with 4,600 staff members, including 426 doctors. Read more »

Located on the edge of the Rensselaer campus the new facility is anchored to the side of a challenging 45-degree hill overlooking the city of Troy. The multi-disciplinary center offers an ambitious, international artistic program providing opportunities for interaction and exchange between artists and researchers in science and technology. The Shopping Centre of Spazio, Zoetermeer, the Netherlands architecture design

The one of a kind building, The Spazio Shopping Centre in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, has become an iconic landmark and is known by many as “The UFO”. Designed by Frits van Dongen of the Netherlands, in November 2005. Rodamco Europe announces it opened its new shopping center ‘Spazio’ in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands on 29 Ocober by the Mayor of Zoetermeer, Mr. J. Waaijer, together with Mrs. K. Laglas, managing director of Rodamco Europe in the Netherlands. This new developent will complement the shopping center ‘Stadshart Zoetermeer’ adding around 15,000 m² GLA of new shopping space. The market value of ’Spazio’, including retail, parking and offices, is €57 mln. Read more »
