B House in Italy by Damilano Studio Architects home design

B-House was designed by Damilano Studio Architects is located in Cuneo, Italy. Damilano builds this Italian white house on the hillside to enjoy the landscape of the Piedmont. The house extends horizontally with a succession of spaces terminating in the kitchen, its windows acting as binoculars focused on the country. In the opposite direction, the house spreads to the north with the body of the rooms, and maintains intimacy where the pool lies: a large body of water, reflections and light. Read more »

Automotive Centre of Excellence, Kangan Batman TAFE, by Lyons in Australia architecture design

The Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) was designed by Architect Lyons and located in Melbourne’s Docklands accommodates a dedicated training and showcase facility for Australia’s Victorian automotive trades and manufacturing. Stage One Automotive Centre of Excellence consists of approximately 2,500sqm of high-bay workshop space and 2,500sqm for specialist workrooms, classrooms and office accommodation. The building absorbs sources from automotive culture, and its relationships with the city; kerb signs, tyre treads, city overpasses, and the sheen of car showrooms. The interiors evoke something of the automotive predilection for contrasting the technological and mechanical with the finished and the smooth. Read more »

ANZ Bank Breakout by HASSELL in Australia furniture design

The ANZ Bank Breakout, ANZ Learning and Breakout Centre that located in Melbourne, Australia and was designed by HASSELL is a large, flexible and multi-purpose space, intended to encourage creativity and freedom from the constraints of a ‘normal’ office environment. Designers Caroline Lieu and Rob Backhouse endeavoured to create a playful and fun atmosphere, one which stimulates the free flow of ideas, which can otherwise be hindered by drab and stuffy surrounds. Corporate colours and branding are eliminated, and furniture and finishes are selected to enhance the sensory experience of the space. Plywood, paint and patterned rubber are some of the materials used in a clever and striking fashion to achieve this aesthetic. Read more »

The Mornington Centre, located in the clients’ own community, in a Mornington residential street near the sea, Melbourne, Australia is architectural design that provides extended residential accommodation for older people who require specialist geriatric evaluation, management and rehabilitation. Built by Abigroup and designed by Melbourne architectural firm Lyons, the Mornington Centre has won the 2008 Horbury Hunt Award for outstanding brick craftsmanship and innovation in built commercial projects. The Horbury Hunt Awards recognise Australian commercial projects that use clay brick in an innovative and well designed way. The awards are an initiative of Think Brick Australia, a body that represents Australia’s leading Clay Brick and Paver manufacturers. Read more »

Shanghai Design Center by Studio Twist in China architecture design

Shanghai Design Center is located in Shanghai, China. The architecture design challenges the convention of linear segregated spaces for furniture showrooms by introducing vertical spatial variations, creating a fluid and interconnected showcase space within an existing unused concrete factory building. Studio Twist director, Annie Chung has completed the interior master-planning and design for a 3,000 sq m furniture showroom and museum in Shanghai comprising high-end European furniture brands Cassina, Flos, Zanotta, Cecotti, Acerbis, Extremis, Danese, Brand van Egmond, Limited Edition and Santambrogio.
