Designed by Polshek Partnership Architects of New York City with Richard Olcott serving as design partner, campus of Dickinson School of Law, part of Penn State celebrates the opening of its new 114,000-square-foot Lewis Katz Building, a building that responds to the law school’s desire to create an inspired and engaging center for legal education on the University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. The focal point of the Lewis Katz Building is its glass-enclosed H. Laddie Montague Jr. Law Library with a volume capacity of 100,000 and seating for 294 students. Read more »

The latest from Geotectura and Malka Architects is a concept for Delft University’s Architecture Faculty- a flying structure called AIRchitecture that’s already making our heads spin. The campus building concepts combines a static learning center for libraries, offices, lecture halls, and an auditorium, with flying workspaces and off-site “zeppelins” to allow for more dynamic collaboration and exchange. Automotive Centre of Excellence, Kangan Batman TAFE, by Lyons in Australia architecture design

The Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) was designed by Architect Lyons and located in Melbourne’s Docklands accommodates a dedicated training and showcase facility for Australia’s Victorian automotive trades and manufacturing. Stage One Automotive Centre of Excellence consists of approximately 2,500sqm of high-bay workshop space and 2,500sqm for specialist workrooms, classrooms and office accommodation. The building absorbs sources from automotive culture, and its relationships with the city; kerb signs, tyre treads, city overpasses, and the sheen of car showrooms. The interiors evoke something of the automotive predilection for contrasting the technological and mechanical with the finished and the smooth. Read more »

Designed and completed by Mario Cucinella Architects, the Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies, University of Nottingham in Ningbo, China sets the standard for sustainable energy research. The main function Cucinella’s newly opened building is to provide a specialist research laboratory for staff and postgraduate students within the new Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies. The tower incorporates a research studio / teaching room and resource room, as well as offices, meeting rooms and a permanent display space. The exhibition space will provide a platform for communicating the latest developments in sustainable energy and construction technologies, both regionally in China and internationally. Read more »
