Thirty-five years after establishing in Central Florida, designed by Perkins and Will, www.perkinswill.com Darden Restaurants has moved to a new $152 million headquarters. The three-storey , 469,000 sq ft building, situated on 54-acre campus, will house all of the Darden Restaurant brands, (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Capital Grille and others) will designed under one roof for the first time. This new green architecture building in Charlottesville, United States, was designed by Ayers Saint Gross Architects + Planners has been awarded LEED Gold certification for Thomas Jefferson Foundation by the U.S. Green Building Council. Designed by Baltimore architects Ayers Saint Gross, The Thomas Jefferson Visitor and Smith Education Center at Monticello is a modern reinforcement of the many vernacular aspects of Jefferson’s architecture. Located in the forested hillside a quarter mile from the historic house, the visitor center exists as a village of buildings sitting lightly in the landscape, each rising one storey above the previous. Collaboration between Ehrlich Architects and HDR Architecture. Inc, the School of Journalism at Arizona State University that called ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication is located in downtown Phoenix, United States. Ground floor retail spaces and ample shaded arcades foster outdoor seating and café life while the main entrance is under a three-storey high ‘front porch’ facing a green civic space, cultivating a sense of community connectivity. In addition, many of the School of Journalism’s functions on upper levels are orientated toward and have open terraces overlooking Central Avenue, allowing the students and faculty to consistently be part of the bustle of downtown. Designed by global design firm Perkins+Will, The Arabia Mountain High School is the first LEED Silver building certified school that located on the edge of the Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in Lithonia, Georgia, United States. The highly sustainable Arabia Mountain High School use these and the site’s location to influence the curriculum, it all be environmentally themed. The Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago was designed by Renzo Piano, Renzo Piano Building Workshop is located in Chicago, United States. The Art Institute of Chicago Modern Wing 264,000 sq ft, Renzo Piano-designed addition is the largest expansion in the museum’s history and increases the museum’s size to more than a million sq ft, making it the second largest art museum in the United States. To celebrate the opening the museum are offering free entry for all and for the opening week, the Art Institute is collaborating with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and asks visitors to bring canned goods to the museum to help provide food for the Chicago community.
